So, I was tagged by the super awesome and slightly evil Jeannette at Folio Road with the Next Big Thing Award. Apparently all I have to do is answer a few questions about my current work in progress. Here goes...
What is the working title of your book?
Where did the idea come from?
Last year when Japan was hit by the tsunami, an image popped into my head. It was of a girl living on a series of islands: what was left of the continent after natural disasters, war, and finally a Great Flood. From there the idea spiraled...as ideas do.
What genre does your book fall under?
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie?
I'm still working on the soundtrack.
What is the one sentence synopsis of your book?
Gonna totally lame out on this question. I have to reach the end of my story before I can wrap my mind around a one sentence synopsis. I'm one of those writers who only has a loose idea of how her story is going to end and often times the characters have different ideas. Sometimes we compromise, sometimes not so much. Stay tuned...
Will your books be self-published or represented by an agency?
I'll be seeking an agent.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
It's been a few months and I'm still hacking away at it. Hack hack, slice slice.
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
The story itself. It was dying to be told.
What else about you book would pique the reader’s interests?
It explores the unravelling of society, blind faith, and bloodlines. My goal is to force the reader to question...everything.
Now to keep this moving. I'm tagging a couple awesome blogs of writers I met through the GUTGAA meet and greet:
Talynn from Ink in the Book
Carrie-Anne from Welcome to my Magick Theatre
