writer therapy blog hop

Writer Therapy

so i'm participating in the writer therapy blog hop and am to write a post about what i use as my own personal writing therapy and how it helps me.

first off...

---MUSIC---

this:
and this:
and this:

and so much more, but i'll spare you.

i also need candles, twinkle lights, a cup of coffee or tea and the windows open to create an ideal writing cocoon for myself. pretty simple really. i need to feel cozy, comfy, and inspired while writing--it's when i do my best storytelling.

what do you use as writing therapy? do tell...

  1. Hello! Jolene and Kristen here from www.penandmuse.com ! First off, we saw your post about getting an agent! Congrats! You must be so excited. We're pumped for you. There's nothing we love more than a success story.

We definitely agree with you on the whole, coffee / tea / window to the world aspect. And I love Of Monsters and Men! Nice choice. Happy writing!

  2. oo music is great therapy and inspiration! Sometimes a lyric from a song makes everything click. I also love listening to instrumental stuff when I write! Vitamin String Quartet is the best for this :)

And huge congrats on the agent! That's so exciting! Proof that persistence pays off!

  5. First of all, Congrats! I have your agency on my own short list of "first tier" selections for when I begin querying!

I wish I could do the music thing. I have done a little with soundtracks to movies, but mostly I find it distracting. I applaud those that can integrate it though since it can add a different level to the work.

    Great post and congrats again!
