falling in love...

...over and over and over again.

i can't begin to explain what it's like to fall in love with the creation of a story. the best thing i can compare it to is becoming infatuated with a new song, or book, or photo...when you can't get enough of it and it's constantly crossing your mind. like that, but so much more powerful ----

---- because this is something i've created. it's alive in its own right. the characters have personalities and make decisions (sometimes without my consent or against my better judgement) and the backdrop quickly evolves into a real world, a place where I could hang out or visit or daydream of -and I do.

all of this rambling to say, i am so very in love with my current work in progress. i'm giddy. i'm nauseated. i'm anxious and angsty and blissful. it might sound silly or cliche' or weird, but...

it's a lovely thing.

  1. Nice choice of music, love Death Cab! I LOVE that stage when I'm writing. I love falling of all my characters and their lives. It's all so shiny and new. Have fun with that WIP of yours.

    1. Thanks Jenny...it's the best and this is over the one I'm writing the sequel for (have another WiP in the early stages, but I'm not smitten just yet) - you'd think the honeymoon would be over by now :p Oh love...it's a crazying thing...
