Oh you're out there...

This week I was one of the lucky judges (no, I'm not revealing my secret name...muwahahahahaha!!!!!) for the Like a Virgin Pitch Contest. It was super fun and felt a lot like this...

But it also got me thinking about putting yourself 'out there'. It's scary to post your work for all the online world to see. Add being judged and critiqued on top of that and yeeks!!!

There were some really great entries, and more, SO MUCH well intentioned and wonderful feedback. I hope everyone (at least) left inspired to keep writing and maybe with a new CP or two!

It took me too long to admit I was a writer and even longer to enter a contest or search for a CP. But all of you 'virgins' owned it this week and I'm inspired!

Because, putting yourself out there doesn't stop once you enter Agentland. Actually you're more out there and it will continue and increase (hopefully) which is exciting and all kinds of scary.

So, thanks for the inspiration and for allowing me to experience the other side of this contest thing. It wasn't easy having to choose which ms's moved on to the next round and when I finally did it, I was all...

So hang in there! Keep at it! And I'll do the same...

  1. Great post. Love the animations. I know, it's hard to put yourself out there. It's like standing in a stadium in front of a crowd of thousands in your underwear ...hoping they're clean.

  4. So glad you could join in the LV13 fun. Judging is like teaching, you learn a lot by trying to explain stuff, both to yourself (what makes this entry more appealing than that one) and to those you're judging (what's not working, how to make it better). And it's refreshing not the one under the microscope for a change, right?

    1. It was a blast, indeed a learning experience, and yes, extremely refreshing to be on this side of things for a change! Thanks again to you and Kristina for including me and for ALL of the work you put into it! Great success!

  5. Fun post with all the animation! And I bet it was hard being a judge, deciding which MS should move on, knowing how sensitive all we writers can be. Thanks for that!
