IWSG - Creative Progress

I'm a day late on this (where the hell did February go?!)...

For a brief snip of time I was finished editing (now I'm editing three different projects O_o) and started a new project. It's one that I'll be forced to dig deep for and will be my biggest challenge (so far) and I'm pretty excited about that - freaked out scared - but mostly excited.

Over time, and 4 + novels, I've developed my own creative process. For inspiration I need visuals, the words of others, music, sometimes candles, and always a warm mug of something yummy at my side.

Here are some before and after shots of my creative process/progress:

It's my "cork board of happiness" or "the board with creepy pictures and weird things", as my daughter apparently sees it.

What's your creative process? Is it different for each project?

*Thanks to Alex J. Cavanaugh for starting IWSG - a monthly blog hop where writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!*

  1. Your boards are so much prettier than mine! Mine are entirely flashcards in neat little rows, broken up into Acts... sometimes I'll stick a picture or two on, but I mostly use Pinterest for visuals. Makes me feel I need to jazz up my corner!

    1. Ha! Well, it's a bit of a time suck, but makes me happy ;-)

    2. Oh and yeah, nothing real neat/organized about mine. The scrappier, the better!

  2. This is inspiring just to look at! I can't wait to get my writing space back and do more of this.

  3. I'm getting ready to change my board over to reflect my new WIP. It's so much fun! I really like the pic of that girl in the first one, w/her dark hair blowing.
