Conquering Fears

Last month I posted about an upcoming reading I was preparing for and my horror over public speaking (I believe I referred to it as pulling out my own toe nails). If you missed it, you can catch up HERE.

Well, I'm happy to report that I didn't faint. Or stutter. Or trip. Or even sound super nervous.

I've got to remember the anticipation of such things is usually much worse than the actual event. Also, rehearsing really makes a difference! Like, truly. (Oh how I wish the college-me could have known...)

So, here's an action pic (new snazzy dress and all):

Don't get me wrong... I won't be seeking these things out now or anything, but it's definitely good to step outside your comfort zone from time to time.

This whole Boulder Tattoo Project was quite the journey and ending it with me pushing past one of my greatest fears was a beautiful way to bring it full circle. I'm so honored to have been a part of it.

  1. Lovely pic! You looked very natural and in your stride. =) Glad it went well!

  2. Good on you! It is an accomplishment to face your fears and overcome. Just think, someday you'll be asked to do readings of your famous books and this will have served as valuable practice.
