The Official Author Bio:
Jessika Fleck is a writer, unapologetic coffee drinker, and knitter -- she sincerely hopes to one day discover a way to do all three at once. Until then, she continues collecting vintage typewriters and hourglasses, dreaming of an Ireland getaway, and convincing her husband they NEED more kittens. She's never been known to pass up a good cup of coffee or a great pair of boots. Her work verges on fantastical and dark with a touch of realism. She is a regular contributor to the fantastic kidlit blog, The Kidliterati. Her YA fantasy, THE CASTAWAYS (Entangled Teen) debuts April 3, 2017. THE OFFERING (Swoon Reads/Macmillan) releases in the fall of 2018. Jessika is represented by Victoria Marini of the Irene Goodman Literary Agency.
The Unofficial (me rambling about myself) Bio:
So you've stumbled upon my blog. and since you've clicked on this tab it's safe to assume you're either curious, nosy, or maybe your finger slipped. Either way... I won't judge. This blog is an honest account of my journey from writer to published author. It might not be pretty at times, but hey, nothing worth working for ever is, right?
I've written several novels. The first was a year long experiment in writing. I poured my heart and soul (and a little blood, possibly a kidney) into it and ended up with an EPIC fantasy length novel (which isn't cool unless you're Stephen King or a holy book). Live and learn.
My second novel came without effort and was finished in 4 months. It was then I realized becoming published might actually be an attainable goal. Novel number three was birthed soon after, followed by novel number four. Then five. Six... Seven... Etc...
I love running in the rain.
My favorite book is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.
My other favorite book is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
My other, other favorite book... ;)
I'm obsessed with old type writers. They're like photos into the past with stories and personalities all their own. Somehow they find me and I've adopted five...so far.
Coffee, red wine, dark chocolate, and I-can't-live-without-you boots are my greatest vices.
I can't get enough of snow falling and the smell of fires burning from chimneys. Or candles...
I become hopelessly fixated with particular lyrics to songs.
I love the dusty scent of old books. (And the fresh, yummy smell of new books)
I'm a friend to all animals, but have a particular weakness for sweet, wee little kittens.
I'm learning to spin wool.
